DDJ-T1 from Pioneer
31/03/11

“The DDJ-T1 controller is designed for the next generation of home and casual DJs who leverage digital music files everywhere they go,” says Pioneer. That more sounds like me now.
This is the first time Pioneer have entered the Tracktor and knowing Pioneer if they were going to go in they had to do it in style. Kinda like Apple entering the Mp3 market with iPod. The thing about the DDJ-T1 is that it has everything combined the mixer, effects, jocks ad everything else needed. Due to everything being combined where they place everything is crucial. The placements of everything are in a way that the mixer, effects, jocks and etc are easy to find almost like a standard playing equipment.
As Poineer said, this is for the casual dj's or for your home practise. The thing about the DDJ-T1, is that it very much looks like a club dj setup. Practising from it aint bad at all as its the reason for its creation. Here is where Pioneer kills competition, unlike the rest the DDJ-T1 uses the standard model software Tracktor that is used on other top Pioneer brands. Other Traktors to not posses effects. For those djs that have live acts or like making noise while performing DDJ-T1 has a mic input, plug in for monitors. If you do not have a laptop sorry as its not for you. Actually go buy a laptop. The DDJ-T1 does not have a cd place hence a called a DDJ-T1 not a cdj. That will probably piss many beginners. The dopest point about this is that the only thing needed from the loptop is the screen. The DDJ-T1 has a slide in for the bottom of the laptop. The play list is on the laptop using the pioneer software, and for navigation a dj uses the DDJ-T1 not the lap as I said you only need a screen on the laptop for your songs.
Another thing that's dope about DDJ-T1 is that its not just an all in one but also the sound is of it of high quality. Exactly what you expect from Pioneer. Overall I like the thought behind the creation of DDJ-T1, if you have money to spend for your home setup then I would say go for the traditional cdj and mixer if not then this is more then good enough.
Here is more from Pioneer not me:
- A Plug and Play connection via USB and a space for laptop keyboards under the controller that places the screen in the DJ’s line of sight at all times, make the DDJ-T1 the perfect home or mobile DJ set-up.
- The controller’s layout inherits tried and tested Pioneer functionality, offering excellent operability. And the effect area exactly mirrors the software interface, delivering the same look and feel.
- A 115 mm jog wheel, 4-channel deck control (with a master/sync button to match song speed and tempo), 6 effects andrecording help you unlock the full potential of the software at no extra cost. Other performance features include loop editing and quantising functions.
- Optimised audio circuitry in the master output area, borrowed from Pioneer pro-DJ equipment, ensures high quality sound that has beaten the competition hands down in listening tests. This, coupled with audio characteristics optimised for TRAKTOR software, ensure superior sound delivery.
