Lavish Industry Launch
20/04/10
What is Fashion?
Isn't fashion lifestyle, clothes, accessories, people, places and just general interaction with diversity? In my opinion fashion is what you want it to be, what you make of it. I was fashionably lucky to be at the most fashionable event this past weekend Lavish Industries was launching their Lavish Industries' Artist Management & Booking Agency last Friday at Le Chateau Margaux a hot new trendy spot in Cape Town.
Lavish Industries now hosts 12 great talents from CPT, with the available artist at Lavish Industries you get Megan C-a humble diva with a voice like honey. Laurian Nortje Kabongo- the Hectic99 tv presenter and MC.Ameen the music producer.Dj's such as Leo Large, Lu-Kay, Tino, Zeejay, Trix, PH, hip-hop artist HC and Master Lu and Franki M the RB singer. It was a spectacular night filled with fashionable talents and certain fashion statements
We get to see a lot of those fashion statements in Cape Town and you have to admit our diversity and taste in clothes is a site to be made civic and embraced all in one breath, some may say you take it with a grain of salt, I say you take it with Cape Town humour and trepidation "yes I said it -trepidation" and I have reasons for the use of that word:
This is the true definition of trepidation; the most enticing thing about this guy is that he was having fun, paying no note to those who eyed him with the probing eyebrows and smirk. Now that is fashion in its gauche form.
How you live your life is a fashion statement, if you take a moment to think about it you will possible agree with me.
Red Carpet Fashion Show
06/04/10
The CPTSTREETMAG duo was fortunate enough to attend the Red Carpet Fashion Show on 8th April 2010. The event was well planned, presided and presented even with the slight time overlap. The audience was greeted and treated lavishly with good music, Art, Elegance, a fully stocked Vitamin Fridge and delectable snacks and cocktails.
The two classy founders Jade Allen and Vanessa Holliday injected life into the venue with an air of elegance and industry names such as young business enthusiasts, high fashion moguls, media and models. Even young Danny K made his way to Bree Street sporting a cool one footed ankle shoe (because of the broken ankle) and a walking stick. Further proof the ladies at Red Carpet Concepts have a good thing going (keep an eye on them)
While we took pictures and had a moment to enjoy culture and cuisine, we savored the anticipation of the start of the show. The crowd was also in a state of eager anticipation.
Lauren McGregor took to being MC, like a fish to water. She is a rather refreshing lady with a history in acting; she kept the audience entertained with her playful wit. Her introduction of the various designers, with Jeannie D was elaborate, heading the showcase with TracyB, Maxine Benatar,Margot Molyneux- Paige Smith, Parisha Chetty and last but not least Glam-tastic Kobus Dippenaar who closed off the evening with a selection of great gowns.
The event was indeed a top up to end a Thursday evening and a welcome slide into the weekend. We at CPTSTREETMAG openly say it was the top event of the first week of April, and give our regards to the organizers and the people involved. To Jade Allen and Vanessa Holliday congratulations for bringing such elegance and pizzazz to Cape Town
