CTTS Top 6 announced
10 | 10 | 14
Last week Sunday (05/10/14) it was the Cape Town Talent Search 2014, organized by UA Entertainment, Crazyworld Productions and DK Worx, and sponsored by Coca-Cola and Rode Microphones. Auditions for singers, dancers and poets started on the 4th June 2014. 65 made it to the competitive rounds. Out of that 65 only the “Top 8” could make it this past weekend, at the Mia Casa in Kuilsriver. The theme of the night was “1980’s Hits” and the Top 8 bent their backs backwards (others literally did) to secure their places in the next phase of the competition.
They were competing to make it to the Final’s where only 6 would be selected. The guest judge for the evening was Oz-ris (Sinethemba Oz-iris Mzwali) the CEO of the amazing Blah Ze Blah (official partners of the National Arts Festival). With his intense involvement in developing, providing platforms and support for emerging creative in the Eastern Cape. He was so surprised with the calibre of talent in the competition that he was inspired to share his talent of beat boxing with the crowd. Brilynn van Rooyen, one of the judges on the night and organiser of the competition, could not contain himself as he was also inspired to collaborate. And what an awesome collaboration it was. (Checkout the collaboration on a video shared on the CTTS '14 Facebook Fanpage.)
The finalists are Kyle Louw (Poet), Phuthanang Christopher Makeke AKA P.Chris (EmCee), Refilwe Rakang (Dancer), Kayla Oliver (Dancer), Chad Nolan Bergstedt (Singer) and Shannel Ebrahim (Singer).
The final will be hosted on the 30 November 2014 at MiacCasa. For updates and more information on the CTTS ’14 visit: www.facebook.com/capetowntalentsearch
