Earth Day Event at Piano Bar Cape Town

With everything that is happening in South Africa this month, this is a reminder on Earth Day, celebrated on the 22nd of April annually with a worldwide focus to show support for and raise awareness about environmental protection and issues.

This year marks Earth Day's 45th anniversary and in honour of it, The Piano Bar aims to create an experience, which is both fun and environmentally friendly.

The gastronomic side focuses on the use of local, organic and seasonal ingredients used in a creative way to show that sometimes what's best is what is in your own backyard; while the entertainment side is set to showcase homegrown talent.

The mouth watering, organic set menu is R280 and includes a wide range of organic dishes to tempt and delight.

Starters include butternut, carrot and orange soup and caramelised onion and goats cheese tart and tempting mains such as the organic steak with organic red wine jus and roast vegetables; butternut and sweet potato gnocchi in a Versuvio sauce will be sure to delight. Finally, the dessert range includes figs with balsamic reduction as well as a series of homemade ice creams to round things off.

The handpicked artist for the night is set to deliver an altogether fresh, intimate and homegrown experience. Talented singer-songwriter Chris Werge, who is known for his warm, soulful, indie-folk tunes, will be taking to the stage.

The Piano Bar is also teaming up an organic wine brand, Earthbound, for wine tastings of their Sauvignon Blanc and Pinotage, a week prior to event. All those who want to experience it, are welcome to come by!
