Music and wine tasting at Pepperclub

I'm in Joburg and have been interacting with food, people that create good food and actually started to have a relationship with food in my own little way, and now I'm told that Capetonians are in for a treat this coming Thursday, 2 July at Pepperclub Hotel & Spa as the hotel launches their Christmas in July Winter wine tasting series – complete with live music to ring in the festive cheer!, and I'm secretly wishing I was in the Cape at this very moment getting ready for the 2nd of July....

The organizers are planning to wow the crowd with a stunning selection, not only will guests have the opportunity to sample one of the Cape’s best brands in a lively and festive atmosphere at one of the city’s premier establishments, but also soak up the sweet sounds performed by dynamic duo, Acoustic Element.

Perfectly suited for the wintery weather, the launch of the Christmas in July themed Winter wine tasting series will showcase Diemersfontein Wine & Country Estate’s renowned range of wines, including the original Coffee Chocolate Pinotage.

While sipping on the range, Jody Abel and Callen Petersen from Acoustic Element, armed with their guitar and electric violin, will wow guests with their musical vigour and spunk.

Coinciding with the monthly First Thursdays event, which Pepperclub Hotel & Spa is participating in during the winter season, the wine tasting evening on 2 July will run slightly later than the usual, and entertainment will be provided until 9pm. A new bar and tapas menu will also be launched at the first wine tasting evening, and will become a regular feature in Paparazzi Bar & Lounge going forward.

“A highlight for young and old, locals and tourists alike, First Thursdays offers a glimpse of the city from a different perspective. Pepperclub’s intimate wine tasting evenings mean that the viniculture arts will take their rightful place amongst the other mediums displayed as part of First Thursdays,” says Bruce Deneys, Sales and Marketing Director of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa.

No bookings are required and the wine tasting is complimentary. For further information on the wine tasting and participating wine estates, please visit the hotel’s Facebook page or follow the fun on their Twitter page.

Pepperclub Hotel & Spa is on c/o of Loop and Pepper street.
